Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was a kid she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. Through a school play as well as an Stagecoach Production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10 and performed. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. Emma's debut on screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. This film was 2001's highest grossing film, breaking records on opening day and first weekend. Critics have praised both the film, as well as the performance of the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. In the following days, Emma was nominated for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded her the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in an feature Film.
